With the 73rd Goodwood Members’ Meeting in the books, we thought it time to revisit the event through the eyes of photographer Rémi Dargegen. Covering the event for Petrolicious, Rémi enjoyed unequaled access to the sights at Goodwood.

Thank you for these images. I went to the meeting with my daughter and it is as good as it looks. Great racing, loads to look at, and we got so close to the cars we were almost sitting in them. If you have not been, and can go, then do so next year. In my opinion it is better than the Revival.

Didn’t want to overdo it this year with this and the revival (tickets already purchased) but will certainly go next year, looks far better and much better value as well… Some of these events are becoming too busy.

I believe it’s an Iso Grifo A3/C, maybe a ’64?

I’m referring to the painted-on orange dot in the top of the 3 on the bonnet of car number 13.

Sorry thought you were referring to the Cobra also number 13!. I think this is to advise the marshalls what kind of fire extinguisher to use in the event of a fire.

I think you must be right, Matthew. The car appears to be either a Bugatti type 35 or type 37. If I recall correctly, Bugattis used a lot of Magnesium alloys in construction which meant that you couldn’t use water to extinguish a fire without making matters far worse. It looks like another Bugatti two cars over with the same orange dot.

The Orange Dot is to do with safety and fire and indicates that the car is running on non pump fuel i.e. methanol
