Camaro Ownership Changes Life Path

Nice video and a great story. I bought a stripped out 1969 Camaro in 1975. It was used by a guy for Drag racing. He got cancer, parted the car out and sold me the body shell. I bought a junkyard motor, heater, trans , 12 bolt 3:55 posi rear differential and enjoyed driving it just like Martin. That 69 Camaro was a lot of hard work and a great teen age mechanical learning experience. This great video brings back all those early Camaro memories.

Brilliant Petrolicious video as always but this one had a special appeal for me. Why? Well, like Martin I started out from a pretty low base of mechanical knowledge and while I still have lots to learn what I do know has been mainly learned from working on my 1968 Grotto Blue Camaro, “Virginia”. She’s a mildly re-worked 327 small block and the current project is swapping out the old 2-speed Powerglide for a 4-speed TH700r4 transmission. I’m in Brisbane, Australia. If this car isn’t almost life itself! Where else does that stupid coat hanger have to fall? On the newly painted deck lid of course! After something like that happens you know this car a keeper! As always well done Petrolicious, great car and video!
