We typically feature vehicles with four wheels here in the Market Finds section, but that doesn’t mean a machine with two (or three) will keep you from driving any less tastefully. Especially if it’s a classic Indian motorcycle.

This 1926 Scout Junior can even allow a passenger to ride tastefully in its sidecar. That and the bike itself is propelled by a 37 cubic-inch engine. The owner describes the combination as being in “pristine condition.”

He or she also refers to this pairing as a “rare part of history.” As antique as it is, this particular specimen was produced almost a quarter century after Indian first sold a motorcycle to the public (in 1902). The Scout line was introduced in 1920 with semi-unit construction, in which the transmission is bolted to the motor. Two years later, Indian began equipping its creations with “leakproof” aluminum primary cases. There’s certainly nothing tasteful about leaving a trail of engine fluids on the highway, is there?
