Pick your Poison: Two Delta Integrales For Sale In Atlanta

Your choice of car is an undeniable form of self-expression. Regardless of the back story, or how you acquired it, a car says something about you. This is by no means a ground breaking revelation, just an observation we live here at Petrolicious. We would even venture to say that there is a good amount of self discovery as to ‘who you are’ and ‘what type of car person you are’ when you’re deciding which car to buy.
Today, we bring you an exercise to simulate this process with a unique purchase decision between two Lancia Delta Integrales (which are actually for sale by Motorcar Studio, and imported by The Dutch Safari Company into the U.S.: yes, you can buy one!). Option A is a predominantly original 1988 8v HF in Monza Red with extensive documentation. Option B is an 1987 8v HF enthusiast’s tribute (an enthusiast who happened to be a Martini & Rossi marketing rep) to the multiple championship-winning rally car.
On one hand, you’ve got a highly-original example, and on the other, a road-legal and rally-ready conversion.

THE CAR
It’s rare to find a Lancia Delta Integrale in the United States for sale in any condition. It’s rarer still to find one anywhere on the planet as original and well documented as the example offered here. The Monza Red example was sold on clean Texas title and recently imported from Europe. This 3 owner car is exceptionally well-documented with a binder full of service and registration records dating back to nearly new. Here’s the breakdown:

1987 Lancia Delta Integrale HF 8V

THE CAR
Fitted with a roll cage, racing seats with four-point harnesses, a hydraulic handbrake, and the archetypal Martini livery, it ticks all the right boxes for any rally fan. The car is perfectly set up for spirited rally driving, but it’s also a blast to drive around town. The relatively softer suspension for rally use (as opposed to a very stiff track setup) makes it surprisingly comfortable on rough urban roads. The engine was rebuilt around 10,000 km (6,200 miles) ago and retains its stock “DNA”, aside from an aftermarket blowoff valve and racing clutch. Driving lights and signals all work, although the rally lights have yet to be wired in. This car is more than enough fun to be had on the road—at which point you can go straight to the trails. Fun turbo noises, great vintage rally look, everyday driveability…just get used to being the centre of attention.

OUR THOUGHTS
Delta Integrales are a team favorite at Petrolicious. Although these aren’t as desirable as the 16v version from an out-and-out performance perspective, they are currently a great entry point in a market sure to appreciate. They are certified fun at a modest price point.
