In conjunction with last week's Land Rover video, we wanted to share more information about the Land Rover. So we've created a Petrolicious infographic that is chock full of all kinds of interesting tidbits about the iconic car. For instance, did you know that the Series I initially sold for about £600?
The Collector is a weekly series produced in association with Gear Patrol.
Perhaps the highest praise that could possibly be paid to the iconic Land Rover, is that sixty-six years on, it remains in production (now the Land Rover Defender) and yet was only intended as a stop-gap product for Rover. It was effectively an instant hit.

The name of the Jeepster Commando hearkens back to the Jeepster Sports Phaeton, made from 1948–1951 under the formerly-named Willys-Overland. The interior design of the Jeepster Commando was pretty spartan, but then again, it wasn't meant to have a beautiful interior, it was just intended to perform while maintaining a cool exterior look.

My interest in different vintage vehicles comes and it goes. When it comes, it is hard to swim against the desires of knowing more and wanting to eventually acquire the subject of whatever kick I may be on lately. Most recently this kick has come in the form of vintage 4x4s, which began when I saw this old Alfa Romeo Matta at the Best of France and Italy show a few weeks ago.
