I found myself behind a new Peugeot–a 505 GTi–loaded with a huge rice bag under the open trunk, and wheel angles more extreme than a racing wheelchair's. Alignment what? Since I’m a sucker for French culture and grew up in the capital of perfection, Stockholm, I immediately fell in love with the non-regulated way of using these old French funky cars.

The car you see here is a transformer–in more ways than one. This 1985 Peugot 205 GTi has switched its citizenship from Welsh to American (it's now registered in Maryland). With a little work, using included parts, it can also be changed from a street machine into a track toy.

On Christmas Day, we shared with you Venisio Pagani's touching story of finding his father's Peugeot 70 years after having had to part with it due to the war.  In today's Garage Profile, you can get a better glimpse of Pagani's garage in Cortona, Italy, that is so perfectly cluttered it almost looks like a movie set.  Amongst the orderly chaos we found two rare machines from the WWII: a Zündapp motorcycle with sidecar and an Alfa Romeo Matta 4X4.
