The Triple Nickel is More Than a Motorcycle

London isn’t your typical vintage motorcycle racer, and her steed, a Honda CB160, is not a typical vintage motorcycle. Sold for just one year, the tiny, jewel-like Japanese bike isn’t the easiest to find parts for…but that matters little to London.“I didn’t know that I was the only girl riding…I just knew I wanted to ride,” she says.

Nice video, great editing and diversity in the footage, but a bit too long, especially because Stacie as bit of a slow speech.
Nevertheless, great story!

Stacie –
I’m just a little old guy with a white mustache. I do not expect you to remember me, but I admired your truck and met you at Sears Point a few months ago. As we talked, I told you how impressed I was with you and what you are doing. Today I just happened to discover your video. Good stuff. Best wishes to you and Jim and Ralph.

My husband restores vintage 2-stroke Yamahas and is FINALLY working on my 77 RD250 basket project, now that I’ve outgrown my 76 RD125. We’ve also got his 85 RZ350 & his first love, the 79 RD400 Daytona Special. When our twin girls were born I told him at the time that girls can ride just as well as boys can, the difference is that we just look way better pulling wheelies! ;o)

Great story. I suggest contacting Keith Code and signing up a for track day. You don’t need to break bones to learn to race.

I think Ms London is one cool Gal. I’m glad she is able to follow her dream. If I wasn’t already married to the best Gal in the world, I would be trying my best to meet her and doing my best to get her to fall in love with me.
Thanks again Petrolicious for one hell of a video.

How appropriate that I’m just getting into vintage bikes. My wife inherited a 60s Honda from her dad and I’m tasked with fixing it up. Naturally I will need a bike too so the hunt is on.

“It kinda went from girls posing on bikes, and being pinups…now the pinups are riding” ? hmm.
Of course, miss London with the 16.5hp Honda has a nice hobby, butt she is not the first girl on a race bike.
Beryl Swain was the first woman solo rider to ride the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy course in an official event in 1962.
Maria Costello has broken about 24 bones over the years during Road racing and holds the Guinness World Record until 2009 for being the fastest woman to lap the Isle of Man TT course at an average speed of 114.73 mph. Not exactly girls posing on bikes is it.

I found this film to be a compelling watch. Rarely in life do you find a person as dedicated and in love for what they do. Should that I might have that passion for life the way Ms. London does in this film. Too many people go thru this life never doing much of anything. However to see this kind of enjoyment that she derives from doing what she does, and the way she goes about it indicates that she is already a complete success in her endeavors. She wants to be in the “top five”. To me she is already number 1!
An aside, I thought the music fit the film perfectly.

I first watched this at work. And it didn’t go deep for me.
But then later, I watched in the quiet of my home….
It was very beautiful and highly inspiring.

Someone coming to M/C’s later in life ? A good thing . The fact that its a woman ? A better thing . The fact that she’s now racing them as well ? Even better yet .

But … methinks a bit of very important history is seriously being ignored with that final ‘ pinup ‘ comment . Fact is back in the 10’s 20’s and 30’s there were a multitude of woman riding . Most of them daily . Many of them racing . And a whole host of them crossing the US Canada and Mexico [ as well as over in Europe and the UK ] back when doing so was a serious adventure and mechanical skills were a necessity . Fact is back in the day many women were leading the men in more ways than one when it came to M/C riding

The ” girls posing on bikes ” thing was a product of the 30’s and then again in the 50’s only to be repeated again in the 90’s 2000’s 2010’s by the Fashion Industry

As to the video ? One serious complaint . Every time she is discussing her BMW all we’re seeing is the Honda . Thats an error that needs to be avoided like the plague . Also the music doesn’t fit the video very well … but thats just my ( professional ) opinion on that one .

Regardless of the complaint(s) though . Two thumbs !
