You Are Shore to Love These Vintage Surf Ads!

“Let’s go surfin’ now, everybody’s learnin’ how…” Those immortal words helped mainstream a sport once limited to a few select beaches around the Pacific. As the sport’s popularity grew, so too did the associated culture, which was about a fun, outdoor, bohemian lifestyle. And who wouldn’t want to spend their days riding waves and catching some sun with their compadres?

And no matter the era, the surfboards are piled on and surfers packed in. It’s a scene, man. Longboard or short and no matter what your surf wagon of choice, be it the ever-popular VW Bus, Ford panel van, or just a small econobox, it doesn’t really matter what you’re driving as long as you’re headed to the beach for some “tasty waves,” right Spicoli? Just one question though, what’s up with the donkey in the VeeDub ad? Looks like he wants to drive.

Surfing is a great active pastime for any age. The main thing is to find a good instructor and choose comfortable equipment, you can do it here https://easy-surfshop.com/. My husband and I often went on such holidays in the summer

Studebaker spotter…In your wide surfing picture, you display a neat mix of surfin’ vehicles. I think the Corvair front and center is a misfit
. But, I really like the rear view of what looks like a 1954 Studebaker Conestoga wagon on the left. Thanks for posting.
