The car: 1965 Austin-Healey 3000 Mark III

Price: $75,000

Location: British European Auto (San Pedro, California, USA)

Recently we ran a feature on an Austin-Healey in The Collector Series on Petrolicious—did you enjoy it? Because that glorious 1965 “BJ8” is now for sale on consignment.

Car HBJ8L 31503 was originally bought by Mr. George Fuller/Evans from Baker Automotive in Atlanta, and the second and current owner purchased it from his estate in 1988. Due to health issues, the A-H was stored in 1969 with 21,575 miles. Every aspect of the car was original when purchased 19 years later; however, the exterior paint and top suffered from sunlight via a skylight, issues which were addressed by the new owner, who kept the car in Austin, TX through 2000. Records show 27,435 miles when shipped to California that year. The owner has been living overseas yet proper maintenance and storage has been performed while maintaining the low mileage. If there is an Austin-Healey that could be considered a “keeper” due to original documented mileage and history, it’s this one–contact Jeff at British European Auto (jeff@britishcarla.com).
